Last updated: April 17, 2026
Thank you for choosing MTG Event ("company", "we", "us", "our"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. If you have any questions or concerns about this policy or our practices, contact us at hello@mtgevent.com.
When you visit https://www.mtgevent.com and use our services, you trust us with your personal information. This notice describes what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please discontinue use of our sites and services.
This policy applies to information collected through our website (such as https://www.mtgevent.com), our application at app.mtgevent.com, and related services, sales, marketing, or events (collectively, the "Sites").
1. What information do we collect?
Personal information you disclose to us
In short: We collect information you provide, such as name, contact details, credentials, payment-related data, and social login data when you choose that option.
We collect personal information you voluntarily provide when you register, express interest in our products or services, participate in activities on the Sites, or contact us. This may include:
- Name and contact data — first and last name, email address, postal address, phone number, and similar contact data.
- Credentials — passwords, password hints, and similar security information used for authentication and account access.
- Payment data — information needed to process payments (for example, payment instrument type and identifiers). Payment data is handled by our payment processor; review their privacy policy for details and contact them for payment-specific questions.
- Social media login data — if you register or sign in with a third-party account (such as Google or Facebook), we receive information as described in section 5 below.
Personal information you provide must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of changes.
Information collected automatically
In short: When you visit the Sites, we automatically collect certain technical information (for example, IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language, referring URLs, and usage data) to secure and operate the Sites and for internal analytics.
Information from other sources
In short: We may receive limited information from public databases, marketing partners, social platforms, and other third parties (for example, marketing leads or profile information you have made public on a social network).
2. How do we use your information?
In short: We use your information for legitimate business purposes, to perform our contract with you, with your consent where required, and to comply with law.
We may use the information we collect or receive to:
- Facilitate account creation and logon, including when you link a third-party account (see section 5).
- Send marketing and promotional communications where permitted; you can opt out as described in section 11.
- Send administrative information (for example, changes to terms, policies, or features).
- Fulfill and manage orders, payments, returns, or exchanges.
- Enforce our terms, conditions, and policies.
- Respond to legal requests and protect rights, safety, and integrity.
- Analyze usage, improve our Sites and services, and measure campaign effectiveness.
3. Will your information be shared with anyone?
In short: We share information only as described in this policy — for example with your consent, to comply with law, to provide services, to protect rights, or as part of certain business arrangements.
We may process or share data based on:
- Consent — where you have agreed to a specific use.
- Legitimate interests — where reasonably necessary for our business, balanced against your rights.
- Performance of a contract — to deliver the services you requested.
- Legal obligations — for example, in response to lawful requests or legal process.
- Vital interests — for example, to investigate suspected fraud or threats to safety.
More specifically, we may share information in situations such as:
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.
- Vendors and service providers — with contractors who need access to perform work for us (for example, payment processing, hosting, email delivery, analytics, or customer support), subject to appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
- Third-party advertisers — third-party advertising companies may use cookies or similar technologies on our Sites; see section 7 regarding third-party sites and practices.
- Other users — content you post in public areas may be visible to other users or outside the Sites.
4. Who will your information be shared with?
In short: We only share information with categories of third parties that help us run the Sites and services. If we rely on your consent and you wish to revoke it, contact us.
- Third-party accounts — Facebook, Google, or other providers you connect for sign-in.
- Communications — MailerLite, Freshdesk.
- Infrastructure and hosting — Amazon Web Services, Heroku, Netlify, MongoDB Atlas.
- Invoicing and billing — Stripe.
- Analytics and tags — Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager.
- Marketing site content — DatoCMS (and related services) used to publish pages and articles on mtgevent.com.
5. How do we handle your social logins?
In short: If you choose to register or log in with a social media account, we receive profile information from that provider (for example, name, email, profile picture, and other information you have made available to us according to your settings with that provider).
We use that information only for the purposes described in this policy or as explained when you connect the account. We do not control your social provider's use of your data; please review their privacy policy and privacy settings.
6. Is your information transferred internationally?
In short: Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where we or our vendors operate.
If you are in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, we implement appropriate safeguards for international transfers required by applicable law. These may include, for example, Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission (and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where relevant) and supplementary measures where appropriate. We do not rely on outdated transfer frameworks that have been superseded by courts or regulators; our practices follow current guidance.
7. What is our stance on third-party websites?
In short: We are not responsible for third-party sites or services linked from the Sites.
The Sites may contain links to third-party websites, ads, or applications. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review their policies before providing personal information.
8. How long do we keep your information?
In short: We keep information as long as needed for the purposes in this policy unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When we no longer have a legitimate need to process it, we delete or anonymize it where possible, or isolate it (for example in backups) until deletion is feasible.
9. How do we keep your information safe?
In short: We use organizational and technical measures designed to protect personal information.
No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure. You access the Sites at your own risk and should use a secure environment.
10. Do we collect information from minors?
In short: We do not knowingly collect or market to children under 13. Our Terms of Service require users to be at least 13, or to have a parent or guardian's permission if under 18.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete that information. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, contact us at hello@mtgevent.com.
11. What are your privacy rights?
In short: Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, and to object to certain processing.
If we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal). If you are in the EEA and believe we are processing your data unlawfully, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. A list of EEA data protection authorities is maintained by the European Data Protection Board: edpb.europa.eu.
Account information. You may review or update account information in your account settings, or contact us. If you ask us to delete your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from active databases where possible. Some information may be retained where necessary to prevent fraud, assist investigations, enforce our terms, or comply with legal obligations.
Marketing opt-out. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those emails or by contacting us. We may still send service-related emails necessary to operate your account.
12. Controls for do-not-track features
Many browsers offer a Do-Not-Track (DNT) option. There is no common industry standard for how to respond to DNT signals. We do not currently respond to DNT browser signals. If that changes, we will update this policy.
13. Do California residents have specific privacy rights?
In short: California law may give residents additional rights.
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 ("Shine the Light") permits California residents to request certain information about disclosure of personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
If you are under 18, reside in California, and have a registered account, you may request removal of publicly posted data. Contact us with the email associated with your account and a statement that you reside in California. Data may not be completely removed from all systems (for example backups or legal holds).
14. Do we make updates to this policy?
In short: Yes, we may update this policy when our practices or the law changes.
The "Last updated" date at the top shows when this page was revised. For material changes, we may notify you by email, in-app notice, or a prominent notice on the Sites. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
15. How can you contact us about this policy?
