Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using MTGevent.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including free and paid account holders.

2. Description of the Service

MTGevent.com is a web-based tool for creating and managing trading card game tournaments and events. The Service includes features for setting up events, managing pairings, tracking results, and calculating tiebreakers.

The Service is available under a free plan and optional paid upgrades. Features available under each plan are described on our pricing page and are subject to change with reasonable notice.

3. Accounts

You must create an account to access most features of the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at hello@mtgevent.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm other users.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service.
  • Use automated means to access or interact with the Service without our written permission.
  • Impersonate another person or entity.
  • Upload or transmit malicious code or content.
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.

5. Events and commercial use

You may use MTGevent.com to organize events that include entry fees or prizes, provided that any such arrangements are made entirely outside of and independently from the Service. MTGevent.com does not process, facilitate, or take responsibility for any payments between event organizers and participants.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that any commercial events you organize comply with applicable laws, local regulations, and the policies of any relevant third-party rights holders. MTGevent.com is not affiliated with Wizards of the Coast.

6. Paid plans and billing

Certain features of the Service require a paid subscription. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis according to the plan you selected.

All purchases are subject to our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary, all sales are final and non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

7. User content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service, including event names, player names, and results ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant MTGevent.com a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

You represent that you have the right to submit any content you provide, and that doing so does not violate any third-party rights.

8. Account deletion and data

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion, all your data — including events, results, and account information — will be permanently deleted immediately and cannot be recovered. We recommend exporting any data you wish to retain before deleting your account.

9. Intellectual property

All rights in the Service — including its design, code, branding, and non-user-generated content — are owned by or licensed to MTGevent.com. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or proprietary materials.

MTGevent.com is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Wizards of the Coast. Magic: The Gathering is a trademark of Wizards of the Coast LLC.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs. We are not responsible for the outcome of any events organized through the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MTGevent.com disclaims all liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, MTGevent.com's total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €50, whichever is greater.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, or for any other reason at our discretion, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 7, 9, 10, and 11 survive termination.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email or via an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sweden. If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
